I have a 17.3 inch Acer laptop, and it *just* fits into this backpack (with the sleeve on)! Fits my cooling mat, mouse, and power cord as well. Great product, sturdy materials.

First off I want to say this backpack is very sturdy. It is very light for being kind of big- I was able to fit my laptop and a PS3 (just to try it out) without it looking or feeling cramped. It was still a little too tall for me.
One of the problems was that the color did not even closely match the one depicted in the photo. I ordered the olive green and it ended up being more of a forest green with black accents. In the photo the green is a lot lighter and there is also like a dark blue/green accent around the top zipper which was not the case with the one I received. Also there is what looks like brown leather on the front and bottom whereas on the actual unit its black and doesn't look that great. There is a strip on the front and its kind of like Velcro which makes it look extremely cheap.
I could have overlooked all of that had the craftsmanship not been off. The one I received had been stitched incorrectly at the bottom making the front part look lopsided. When I put it on it looked like I had left one shoulder strap longer than the other, that was enough for me to return it. Unfortunate since it's so hard to find a good bag for 17 inch laptops.

Bought this backpack for my daughter whose new laptop would not fit in the old case. She loves it--raved about its roominess, "just right" size, and I love the value for the price.
